Quinta Vale D. Maria

Quinta Vale D. Maria is located in the heart of the Douro, in the Rio Torto valley, where nature and tradition come together in perfect harmony. Since 1868, with vineyards classified as the highest quality in the Douro Demarcated Region, the estate has established itself as a premier supplier for the production of Port wines. At the end of the 20th century, a new phase began in the region, marked by the discovery of its potential for producing high-quality DOC Douro wines. It was in 1996 that Quinta Vale D. Maria began producing its own wines, distinguishing itself in this new era of the Douro and focusing its efforts on expressing the terroir and highlighting the value of its old vines.

Part of the Aveleda group since 2017, Quinta Vale D. Maria maintains its character and legacy, now under the stewardship of the Guedes family, reinforcing an intergenerational vision. With 33.6 hectares, it preserves a rare viticultural heritage, including plots that are over 80 years old. The current commitment is to care for and preserve the Douro as a living heritage, respecting the identity of each vineyard and ensuring that the region’s future continues to express itself with authenticity and respect for the passage of time.
