On July 1st, Japan will host the Wines of Portugal Grand Tasting. Thus, in compliance with the Promotion Plan approved for 2024, Wines of Portugal will be in Tokyo with a tasting aimed at producers with and without distribution in the market, targeting around 280 professionals and 120 consumers.
In 2023, Japan accounted for more than 7.7 million euros in exports of Portuguese wines, corresponding to 1.8 million liters at an average price of 4.25 euros. Given its importance for Portuguese wines, this type of action is essential to be explored in the Japanese market, making known the quality and diversity of national wine.
For Frederico Falcão, president of Wines of Portugal, "Japan is a strategic market for Portuguese wines, as Japanese consumers are great connoisseurs of authentic, high-quality wines. We know that Japan has a very rich gastronomic culture, so there is an appreciation for the perfect harmonization between wines and food. In this sense, with these actions we are trying to show the authenticity and diversity of Portuguese producers."
The Wines of Portugal brand is consistently present in 4 continents and 21 strategic markets, where it carries out more than 100 actions to promote Portuguese wines every year, involving more than 370 national producers.
