ViniPortugal organised an online training session aimed at 30 top sommeliers from the Vancouver region with decision-making power in their restaurants. This session was led by the recognized local sommelier Iain Philip.

A total of 6 wine references were presented, and since this is a session dedicated to top sommeliers, it is important to guarantee a high level of quality in order to ensure attractiveness and impact.

The session took place on the Zoom platform, with a bottle of each wine presented being sent to the participants' homes.

The objectives of this activity are to deepen the audience's knowledge of Portuguese wines and to promote new listings and their recommendation. 

It should be noted that British Columbia is one of the Canadian provinces with the fewest cases of COVID-19 per capita (1,843 cases/ per 100,000 inhabitants) and that it has a restaurant sector known for its dynamism, which is expected to recover more quickly than other provinces.

Restaurants, pubs and bars continue to operate with safety plans and to be able to serve and sell wine.
