More than 1,400 wines registered for the 8th edition of the Wines of Portugal Challenge, an initiative of ViniPortugal that aims to distinguish the diversity and excellence of Portuguese wines.

More than 1,400 wines registered for the 8th edition of the Wines of Portugal Challenge, an initiative of ViniPortugal that aims to distinguish the diversity and excellence of Portuguese wines. After a thorough evaluation by national and international experts, the jury awarded a total of 419 medals, of which 35 in the category of Great Gold, 103 of Gold and 281 of Silver. The most awarded region was the Douro, which reached a total of 12 medals, followed by the regions of Dão and Alentejo. The winners received the prizes at the Awards Ceremony of the Wines of Portugal Challenge, which took place, in a digital format, this past Friday night, May 21st, Live from the “Convento de Jesus”, in Setúbal. The higher awards of the Wines of Portugal Challenge, which distinguished the best among the 35 wines awarded with Great Gold Medal, were: Best Wine of the year Quinta Vale D.
