The Sakura Japan Women's Wine Awards competition attributed 76 medals to Portuguese wines
The competition Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards attributed 36 medals to Portuguese wines During the 7th edition of the Sakura Japan Women's Wine Awards were blind tasted 4,333 items from 29 countries and were assessed by total 560 Japanese female judges who were all active wine experts in the industry. The wine Periquita Reserve 2016 red from the winemaker José Maria da Fonseca won the most honorable award in competition, the Diamond Trophy. The Wines of Portugal obtained 8 Double Gold medals, 43 Gold medals and 25 Silver medals. The Sakura Japan Women's Wine Awards, the largest wine competition in Japan, is an international wine challenge whose panel of judges is composed exclusively of female wine experts (sommeliers, chefs, wine journalists and trade).
