Registrations open for the Wines of Portugal Challenge of 2020

Registration for the Wines of Portugal Challenge of 2020 is now open and the producers who register until March 20 will benefit from a discount of five euros for each wine registered.
The competition is an initiative of ViniPortugal that will distinguish, for the eighth consecutive year, the excellence of Portuguese wines. Registration can be made on the website http://concursovinhosdeportugal.pt/ and the deadline is 23 April. The quality of Portuguese wines from North to South of Portugal will be evaluated by a panel of renowned national and international judges. The Wines of Portugal Challenge is an initiative with a promotional character for specialists, sommeliers and market influencers from strategic external markets for the "Wines of Portugal" brand, which, over the course of a week, have the opportunity to better understand the reality of the Portuguese wine industry. The first phase of the Wines of Portugal Challenge will be held from May 11 to 13, at CNEMA, in Santarém, where the registered wines will be evaluated by a jury, composed of specialists in Portuguese and international wines, including journalists, sommeliers, wine educators and other professions related to the sector. Setúbal is the district hosting the final phase of the Wines of Portugal Challenge of 2020. The Grand Jury will meet from the 14th to 15th of May to select the Grand Golds and the Best of the Year. The big winners will be known at the Award Ceremony , on 15th of May. In 2019, 1,382 wines went to the competition and collected 423 medals, of which 29 Grand Go, 98 Gold and 296 Silver. The Wines of Portugal Challenge is an initiative of ViniPortugal that aims to be a meeting point and exchange of experiences between producers and specialists from all over the world, reaffirming the commitment to the national production of quality wine in order to assert themselves as products of excellence in export markets.
