Wines of Portugal awarded at the International Wine challenge 2018

The Portuguese wines had totaled 181 medals in the 1st Tranche of the International Wine Challenge, in London.
The 36th edition of the International Wine Challenge distinguished 181 Portuguese wines with 10 Gold medals, 47 Silver medals and 70 Bronze medals. Alentejo was the most awarded wine region with a total of 49 medals. Portugal had an outstanding year at the 2019 International Wine Challenge (IWC), conquering a place in the top five, next to France, Australia, Spain and Italy. The IWC is divided into two different tasting moments. The Tranche 1 happened in November and the Tranche 2 will be held in April of 2019. The Trophies result of the wine tasting with the wines awarded with Gold medals in both Tranches. The evaluation process was carried out with the wines divided in the context of style, country and region. Check out the full list of winners here.
