Portugal elected "World's Leading Destination 2017" at the World Travel Awards

The World Travel Awards have elected Portugal as the Worlds Leading Destination 2017". In total, the country won six awards. Lisbon was considered the "World's Leading City Break Destination 2017" and Madeira Worlds Leading Island Destination 2017".
Portugal was voted "World's Best Tourist Destination" at the World Travel Awards ceremony held this Sunday at the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay hotel in Vietnam. Lisboa won the "World's Leading City Break Destination 2017" award for the first time and Madeira was considered " World’s Leading Island Destination 2017". Portugal is the first European country to win this title. The Sintra-Monte da Lua Parks were considered the " World's Leading Conservation Company 2017" and the entity Turismo de Portugal received the awards" World's Leading Tourist Board 2017" and " World's Leading Tourism Authority Website 2017". Portugal won six awards at the 24th edition of the World Travel Awards, considered "the Oscars of Tourism". World Travel was created in 1993. The voting is carried out by the general public and by more than 200 thousand Tourism professionals from 160 countries.
