Portuguese wines have won 150 medals in one of the most important wine competitions in Germany. The Porto Kopke Colheita 1967 and the red Paxis 2013 (from DFJ Vinhos) were awarded with Grand Gold medals, the most important distinction of the competition, because obtained scores superior than 92 points. The Portuguese wines also achieved 120 Gold and 28 Silver medals, and the Douro wine region was the most awarded. In relation to the other regions, the number of awards per region was very similar.
