Portuguese wines awarded in Mundus Vini 2017

Portugal achieved 302 medals in 2017 Spring Edition of Mundus Vini, the most important competition in Germany
A total of 302 Portuguese wines were awarded in the 20th edition of the prestigious contest Mundus Vini. Portugal has accomplished 10 Grand Gold medals - the highest distinction of the competition. Douro wine region was the most awarded Portuguese region and won 7 of the 10 Grand Gold medals. Portugal achieved 144 Gold medals and 105 Silver medals. Spain was the most awarded country (486 medals), followed by Italy (483 medals), France (337 medals) and Portugal (302 medals). Mundus Vini was founded 20 years ago by Meininger Verlag publishing house and has become one of the world's most significant wine competitions. Nearly 200 international wine experts from 44 countries spent the four days critically judging almost 6,200 wines from more than 150 wine growing regions all over the world.
