Portuguese wines awarded in Asia

Portuguese wines have achieved 103 medals in Decanter Asia Wine Awards, one of the largest wine competitions in Asia.
The wine Bacalhôa, Superior, Moscatel de Setúbal from the 2002 harvest reached the best distinction of the competition, the Platinum - Best in Show medal. From Douro wine region, the wines Quinta das Murças Reserva 2011 and Quinta Vale d'Aldeia, Grande Reserva 2013 were distinguished with a “Platinum: Best Red Portugal” and a gold medal, respectively. Twenty-one wines were also awarded with silver medals and 66 wines with bronze medals. Portuguese wines achieved 13 positions in the ranking of commended wines. The most awarded wines are reds (72), followed by whites (28) and roses (3). More than 40 expert judges, including Master Sommeliers and leading palates in the Asia region, judged 2,854 wines during DAWA judging week in Hong Kong last September. See the full results here.
