The wines awarded in Wines of Portugal Challenge 2016 will be available to the consumers during a wine tasting promoted by ViniPortugal at Palácio da Bolsa, in Porto Tasting Room. The initiative will highlight the Best Varietal White of 2016 which is from Vinho Verde wine region. The oenologist Rui Cunha will lead and comment the wine tasting, demonstrating the exceptional nature of this wine region through the award-winning wines. The Wines of Portugal Challenge awards are the result of a thorough evaluation that lasted several days. More than 145 enologists and sommeliers from Portugal’s wine regions and specialists in different wine markets blind tasted 1350 Portuguese wines from 383 winemakers. 29 wines were awarded with Grand Golds medals among the 33 award-winning wines.
