One of the most important wine competitions in France attributed 34 gold medals and 61 silver medals to the Portuguese wines. The 22ndedition of the competition Vinalies Internationales brought together more than 3500 samples of wine from all wine regions of the world. Porto and Douro wine region achieved 29 medals and was the most awarded Portuguese region in the competition. Alentejo, Península de Setúbal and Lisboa are also some of the most awarded regions. The main goal of this contest is to emphasize the maturation capacity and intrinsic qualities of the wines. The Vinalies Internationales held in Paris and is organized by the Union of Winemakers of France. Check the full list of winners here.
