From February 25 to March 13, the Portuguese wines will be on the Rheingau Festival Gourmet’s spotlight, one of the most prestigious German food festivals. The event will be held at Kronenschlösschen Hotel in Eltville-Hattenheim. For two weeks, 20 winemakers will have the opportunity to divulge the quality of the Portuguese wines at this renowned event, which will bring together some of the world's best chefs with Michelin stars. This edition will have the participation of 1,200 wine and food lovers and on March 6 will be promoted a classic wine tasting. The initiative was planned in partnership with the best wineries of Rheingau region, committed to excellent wine production that value terroirs. The event will also have parallel gastronomy events, where the Portuguese winemakers are the special guests. Rheingau Festival Gourmet is a prestigious culinary event with high success in Germany. This is an excellent opportunity to the Portuguese wines demonstrate their perfect pairing ability with exquisite dishes from different backgrounds. For two weeks, some internationally renowned chefs will present their original culinary creations and the winemakers will took the chance to recommend their wines to harmonize with the delicious menus. Germany is one of the priority markets for Portuguese wines, in which the Portuguese wine won an average value higher than 2€ and managed to increase by 5% its average price in 2015.
