Wine exports grew by 3.5% in value to September, indicating that 2015 was a record year. This performance was supported by the rise in US and Canadian markets, which have offset the decline in Brazil and Angola. Sustained and concise growth of the last 12 years was one of the conclusions of the Wines of Portugal Forum that brought together the wine sector for discuss and analyze pressing topics and the presentation of the Promotion Agenda for 2016. During the Forum was analyzed the US market, characterized the consumer's profile and presented some examples of successful wines in US market. In this way the participants had a sense of the American consumer taste. It was also revealed a study about the sparkling wine that illustrated the state of the art of this product in Portugal and the growth potential of Portuguese exports to the world market. Assign greater value to wine was the challenge for the coming years. The different speeches highlighted the necessity of a concerted effort to increase the average price over quantity. Wines of Portugal won strong international recognition, notably at the prestigious US magazine, became influential in anchor markets, so this is the time to fortify the differential position of the Wines of Portugal.
