Portuguese wines will be promoted in three stands (total area of 269 m2) in the most important wine fair in Asia, this year, expecting more than 18,000 wine professionals. This market it’s still a priority for Portuguese wine exports and increasing knowledge and awareness about Portuguese wines it’s important. During the wine fair, the Wines of Portugal stand will be the stage to wine tastings to promote Portuguese wine flavors and improve the knowledge about indigenous grape varieties. Marta Galamba, wine educator of ViniPortugal, will be lead the wine tastings for wine professionals and journalists willing to learn more about Portuguese wine regions, brands and types of wines. Jorge Monteiro, CEO of ViniPortugal, highlights “it’s fundamental to promote Portuguese wines at Vinexpo, an important event to improve awareness about our wines next to wine professionals. China is still a strategic market for Portuguese wines. In the last ten years, exports had an exponential growth, with 12 million euros of sales in 2013. Adding the Macau and Hong Kong special administrative regions the wine exports to China achieved about 19,5 million euros.
