Registrations open for Wines of Portugal Challenge since March, 1st. The winemakers should submit their wines until April, 24th on www.concursovinhosdeportugal.pt. Registrations until March, 31st receive a 5 euros discount for each wine submitted (documentation and wine samples delivered in CNEMA or Regional Wine Commission and payment receipt sent to ViniPortugal are required). The Wines of Portugal Challenge will be held in CNEMA, Santarém from 13th to 16th May, 2014. Portuguese wines classified as Protected Designation of Origin (DOP), Protected Geographical Indication (IG), sparkling wines and fortified wines are invited to join the competition. Viniportugal promotes the challenge to promote the production of quality wines and improve the technical and commercial level of Portuguese wines. It’s also important to spread the quality of Portuguese wines abroad and show to consumers the best DOP, IG, sparking and fortified Portuguese wines. Besides that, VIniPortugal intends to encourage the “Wine in Moderation” program spirit and contribute to wine culture expansion through initiatives connected to tourism and gastronomy.
