Portuguese wines awarded in Germany

238 medals was the positive result for the Portuguese wines participation in the 13th version of the International Mundus Vini Contest held in Germany in early September.
Portugal gained recognition and achieved 4 Grand Gold Medals with 3 Port wines (Quinta das Tecedeiras L.B.V. 2008, Quinta do Pégo Port LBV unfiltered 2008 and Vista Alegre Porto Late Bottled Vintage 2007 - Unfiltered) and another one to a red wine from Península de Setúbal wine region (Serra Mãe 2009). Portuguese wines also won 94 gold medals and 140 silver medals. Portugal was the fourth best country in competition which was led by Germany. The International Wine Awards, organized by the German academy Mundus Vini Gmbh, is an international event that welcomes wineries from all over the world.
