Portuguese wines continue to lead the bottled wine sales in Angola and this situation should be strengthened and consolidated. With this purpose Wines of Portugal organized a wine tasting in the Palmeiras Club of Luanda, next Tuesday (2nd July) at 4.30pm. Besides this wine tasting, Viniportugal will also organize a Wine Party in November to promote wine by the glass consumption and associate Portuguese wines to relaxed time and parties. This year, Luís Pato will lead the seminar about the diversity of Portuguese wines, which includes the tasting of several wines. About 80 winemakers will be present to talk about their wines and quality of Portuguese wines. About 600 guests will attend the wine tasting, mainly people from trade - importers and distributors – one of the most important targets in Angola to strengthen Portuguese wines market position. Portuguese wines have great acceptance in the premium and super premium Angolan market that led to a significant growth and sustained increase in sales value. In 2012 677,919 hectoliters of wine were sold, which means 77,847 million euros, representing an increase of 16.8%. With an investment of 340 thousand euros in Angola, ViniPortugal aims to capitalize the 19% expected growth of Portuguese wines in the set period of 3 years until the end of 2014.
