Germany is the next stop to Wines of Portugal workshops, after China and Brazil. This month and next July several German cities will receive workshops about Portuguese wines lead by David Schwarzwalder (photo). Improving Wines of Portugal knowledge is the main goal of these workshops specially created to trade and off trade public. The workshops will communicate the key attributes of Portuguese wines and attendees will have the opportunity to taste some Portuguese wines, an important moment to increase their awareness to the details of wine production in Portugal and the quality and versatility of wines produced from Portuguese grape varieties. Jorge Monteiro, ViniPortugal CEO, highlights that “despite Germany is a mature market it’s still important to Portuguese wine exports, because it’s a European country. Germany is the 7th export destination of Portuguese wines in global and the 2nd in table wines, with 11.7% increase in the value of exports”. “The workshops plan focuses a large part of the investment in Germany, because it’s essential to win the public preference, like opinion leaders and consumers, who are important ambassadors of Portuguese wines in Germany”, says the ViniPortugal CEO.
