The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2013 edition awards a Portuguese red for the second time. The Duvalley Douro Reserva 2010, produced by Sociedade Agrícola Castro de Pena Alba, was considered the best red in competition. Last year, another Portuguese red from Alentejo was achieved the same award. Besides the “best red” award, Portuguese wines got 9 Great Gold medals (including the one achieved by Duvalley Douro Reserva 2010), 92 gold medals and 187 silver medals. The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 19th edition was held in Bratislava between 10th and 12th May. The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is one of the largest wine challenges in the world. This year over 8200 wine samples from 50 countries were tasted by over 300 judges from 40 countries.
