The best red wine in competition at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is Duvalley Reserva 2010 from Douro wine region.
The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2013 edition awards a Portuguese red for the second time. The Duvalley Douro Reserva 2010, produced by Sociedade Agrícola Castro de Pena Alba, was considered the best red in competition. Last year, another Portuguese red from Alentejo was achieved the same award. Besides the “best red” award, Portuguese wines got 9 Great Gold medals (including the one achieved by Duvalley Douro Reserva 2010), 92 gold medals and 187 silver medals. The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 19th edition was held in Bratislava between 10th and 12th May. The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is one of the largest wine challenges in the world. This year over 8200 wine samples from 50 countries were tasted by over 300 judges from 40 countries. The Great Gold Medals achieved by Portuguese wines were: Adega de Favaios Colheita 1980 | Porto and Douro Bridão Touriga Nacional 2009 | Tejo Casa de Vilacetinho Grande Escolha 2012 | Vinho Verde Cerro do Santo Reserva 2010 | Porto and Douro D'Oliveiras Madeira Wine 1987 | Madeira Duvalley Reserva 2010 | Porto and Douro Foral de Cantanhede Grande Reserva 2009 | Bairrada Garrafeira dos Sócios 2007 | Alentejo Quinta de Sant'Ana Reserva 2008 | Lisboa
