The submissions to Wines of Portugal challenge end next Friday (12th April). Therefore, ViniPortugal suggests Portuguese wine producers to visit the challenge webpage and get all the information about submissions. The Wines of Portugal Challenge will take place in Santarém from 13th to 17th May and it’s organized by ViniPortugal in a partnership between ANDOVI, CNEMA, IVBAM, IVDP and IVV. On the website, Portuguese wine producers will find all the information about the challenge and juries. This year the event gathers 19 international jury members: two from Canada, five from USA, one from UK, five from Brazil and six from Germany. The winners will receive a Great Gold Medal and ensure the attendance in ViniPortugal promotion events, such as seminars, wine tastings for consumers, city tastings or wine fairs attendance in priority markets of Portuguese wines like USA, Brazil, Canada, China, Angola, UK, Germany and Scandinavian countries. The addition of international members to the jury is another innovation in this edition, as well as the voting system. The 30 international judges will join a total of 120 judges and this year the challenge will have a Great Jury, only with international wine judges. This Great Jury will select the Great Gold Medals on the fifth day of the challenge, using the wines awarded with gold medals in the days before.
