You can find the best Syrah in the world also in Portugal

Four Alentejo wines were awarded in the competition "Syrah du Monde" latest edition.
The 6th edition of the "Syrah du Monde" aims to distinguish the best wines from Syrah grapes. In the 2012 edition Portuguese wines obtained two gold and two silver medals. Cortes de Cima winemaker got the two gold medals for the wines Alentejano - Tribute to Hans Christian Andersen 2009 and Cortes de Cima Incognito 2009. Silver medals were achieved by São Miguel Syrah 2010 from Casa Agrícola Alexandre Relvas and Comenda Grande Syrah 2009 from Monte da Comenda Agroturismo winemaker. The experts tasted about 445 wines from 24 different countries and only 30 obtained the gold medal. Another 119 wines were recognized as silver medal.

Wines of Portugal participates in the 5th Global Wine Tourism Conference

The 5th Global Wine Tourism Conference this year takes place in Portugal, from the 8th to the 10th of September, in Monsaraz.

Wines of Portugal collaborates with Portugal’s Tourism Institute in this initiative through the organization of a Masterclass, which will take place on the first day of the event (September 8th), from 12:00 to 14:30, where there will be a Wine Tasting of the 14 Portuguese Wine Regions addressed to around 50 international participants who will be at the Conference.
