Steven Spurrier, an English wine critic, included two Portuguese wines in his list of choices of the year.
Quinta do Vallado Moscatel-Galego 2010 and Meandro do Vale Meão 2008, both Douro wines, were the two Portuguese wines chosen for a list of 67 wines. Spurrier considers the Quinta do Vallado wine “a perfect aperitif and for light entrees” and Meandro do Vale Meão is “full of fruit and spice, fleshy yet firm with a true Douro grip and very good value”. Steven Spurrier is a famous wine critic, especially after having organized the wine tasting "Judgement of Paris", where Americans and French wines were blinded tasted. At the end, the winners were the New World wines. Steven Spurrier chooses are available here.
