The (newspaper) Região Bairradina refers that "everything indicates the year will be a good one in what concerns wine production and quality as the sanitary state of the grapes is good and they are in a good ripening condition". According to the (newspaper) Jornal da Bairrada the grape harvest will be "high in quantity and quality." The CVB (Comissão Vitivinícola da Bairrada) explains that early grape harvest was due to the fact that some more precocious wine varieties needed to be plucked by mid-August. In what concerns quantity they predict a production very similar to the one from last year, namely a medium/high one.
