Alentejo exports 13 million litres of wine

The Alentejo has well and truly consolidated its position on the national market, representing 43 percent of all sales, and internationally its not doing too badly either; the region currently represents 15 percent of global wine sold abroad and currently exports some 13 million litres.
Brazil is the country where most Alentejo wine is sold and where its popularity increased by 48 percent in 2010, in comparison to 2009. But it is to Angola, the USA and China where the 350 Alentejo wine producers are looking to boost their exports.
