Two Portuguese win the OIV Award 2010

The ceremony occurred in Paris, November 2nd.
In the "VITICULTURE" category, the OIV prize was delivered to Nuno Magalhães for "Tratado de Viticultura: a videira, a vinha e o terroir" (Ed. Chaves Ferreira Publicações). In the "MONOGRAPHS AND SPECIALISED SCIENTIFIC STUDIES" category, the prize was delivered to Jorge Böhm for coordinating "Portugal Vitícola: O Grande Livro das Castas" (Ed. Chaves Ferreira Publicações). For the past 80 years, the OIV Award Jury rewards the best books written in the field of vine and wine. These have to be voluminous, they have to make a scientific contribution to the domain, they must be original (new and personal ideas), relevant and of international importance. These books are then submitted to a panel of specialists (university professors, journalists, scientists and historians) in the fields of viticulture, oenology, wine and vine economics, wine and health, history, literature and art.
