Wines of Portugal is once again taking part in the largest Portuguese wine event held in the Brazilian market: the 12th edition of Wines of Portugal in Brazil, organized in partnership with the newspapers Público, O Globo and Valor Econômico. The event will be attended by 80 Portuguese producers, who will present their wines to thousands of consumers and professionals from the sector.

The initiative returns to Rio de Janeiro on June 6, 7 and 8 at the emblematic Brazilian Jockey Club and to São Paulo on June 13, 14 and 15 at the iconic São Paulo Biennial Pavilion in Ibirapuera Park. This event reinforces the strategy of consolidating the “Wines of Portugal” brand among the Brazilian public, in an initiative that has already led more than 100,000 consumers to get to know and taste Portuguese wines over the last few editions.

Over three days in each city, the public will be able to meet dozens of producers and taste their wines in an informal setting, with access to exclusive activities such as commented tastings, “have a glass” sessions with experts, gastronomic pairings, a space dedicated to exploring wine tourism, a wine store with a lounge area and also a professional tasting, reserved for the first slot of the first day, with exclusive access to the trade public.

Frederico Falcão, Wines of Portugal Chairman, said: "Participating in the 12th edition of Vinhos de Portugal in Brazil represents a strategic moment for Portuguese producers. This is a unique initiative to show the Brazilian market the excellence, authenticity and versatility of our wines. The partnership with leading newspapers such as Público, O Globo and Valor Econômico allows us to have an even wider reach, bringing consumers and professionals closer together and strengthening Portugal's position as a major player on the international wine scene."

The 2024 edition had more than 16,000 visitors, 32 special tastings, 40 talk shows and media coverage that reached more than 139 million people in the press, digital and social networks.

Participation in this event is part of ViniPortugal's promotion plan and its main objective is to create new business opportunities in the Brazilian market, one of the main markets outside Europe for national exports. The Interprofessional Wine Association intends to continue its work promoting Portuguese wines and Portugal as a “hot spot” in the international wine world.

In 2024, Portugal exported 28.6 million liters of wine to Brazil, for a total value of 85.9 million euros, which represents growth of 10.6% in volume and 7.6% in value compared to 2023. This performance consolidates Brazil as the main export market outside the European Union and the third in overall value, reinforcing the strategic importance of this relationship for the international affirmation of Portuguese wines.
