The next stop for Wines of Portugal is the UK, more specifically in Manchester for the Wines of Portugal Grand Tasting, on June 30, organized by Wines of Portugal with the aim of identifying and creating new business opportunities for economic agents in the UK.
The tasting, which is exclusive to professionals in the sector and the press, will take place at the People's History Museum, a central and accessible space in the heart of the city, and will bring together 19 Portuguese producers, with and without distribution in the British market, who will have the opportunity to make contact with around 100 local professionals throughout the day.
The Tasting will have two major moments, a Masterclass entitled “Off-the Beaten Track”, led by Dirceu Vianna Júnior MW, focusing on wines from less explored regions, revealing the diversity and richness of Portuguese wines and a Free Pour area dedicated to wines from national grape varieties, providing visitors with a more free and personalized tasting experience.
"Holding the Grand Tasting in Manchester reinforces our commitment to the UK as a strategic market for Portuguese wines. It's an excellent opportunity to deepen commercial relations, present new proposals and highlight the distinctive value of our grape varieties and regions, especially among professionals who play a decisive role in choosing and recommending wines," says Frederico Falcão, Wines of Portugal Chairman.
This event is part of Wines of Portugal's strategy to strengthen the awareness of its brand internationally, especially in markets such as the United Kingdom, where Portugal exported around 84 million euros in value and 22 million liters in 2024.
