In order to comply with the 2025 Promotion Plan, Wines of Portugal will organise the Wines of Portugal Academy for Sommeliers – Intermediate Level, in London, on November 3rd, with the aim of strengthening the knowledge and prestige of Portuguese wines in the Premium On Trade segment. The training event will take place at The Caledonian Club, a landmark venue, centrally located and easily accessible, in the vicinity of the Portuguese Embassy.


Following the success of the 2024 edition, dedicated to the Beginner level, Wines of Portugal l is now continuing the programme with an intermediate level, aimed at around 30 sommeliers from the United Kingdom. The target audience includes professionals who have completed the previous level, as well as sommeliers who already have a solid knowledge of Portuguese wines and wish to further their specialisation. The training will be conducted by Sofia Salvador, Wines of Portugal Wine Educator.

Training sommeliers is essential to increasing the recognition and recommendation of our wines in the best restaurants. This Wines of Portugal Academy is another important step towards consolidating the image of quality and diversity of Portuguese wines among those who directly influence the end consumer.”


With initiatives such as this, Wines of Portugal continues to invest in a strategy to promote Portuguese wine based on training, prestige and the creation of solid relationships with key influencers in the international market.
