Following on from the 2025 Promotion Plan, and with the aim of strengthening the presence of Portuguese wines in emerging regions of Brazil, Wines of Portugal is promoting a new edition of the Wines of Portugal Tasting in Belo Horizonte, in partnership with the Portuguese Chamber of Minas Gerais.
Scheduled for June 10, Portugal Day, the event will see the participation of 15 Portuguese producers, with and without distribution in Brazil, who will have the opportunity to present their wines to professionals in the sector and local consumers, in an environment that combines business, culture and sensory experiences.
The program will start at 3pm with a masterclass dedicated to professionals and leading media. This will be followed by an exclusive tasting for professionals in the sector, between 4pm and 7pm, and to round off the day, from 7pm to 9pm, the space will be open to the consuming public, who will be able to discover and taste a representative selection of the diversity of Portuguese wines.
The tasting will be accompanied by various parallel activities designed to make the experience even more immersive and attractive. The Wine Games area, for example, invites visitors to take part in educational games about Portuguese grape varieties and regions, such as the grape coloring game, in which you have to guess whether a wine is white, red or rosé, or the regions game, which challenges you to identify the origin of the wine. These games are fun and educational, encouraging knowledge in a light and entertaining way.
In another area, participants will be able to create their own personalized label, with or without the support of an artist present at the event. These labels can be printed and applied to a bottle of wine or taken away as a souvenir of the experience.
The Aroma Table will be an obligatory stop for anyone who wants to explore the olfactory component of wines. In an accessible and appealing way, the space invites visitors to recognize and distinguish the most common aromas of the main Portuguese grape varieties and wine styles, promoting sensory education. There will also be live music.
Frederico Falcão, Wines of Portugal Chairman, said: "Holding the Wines of Portugal Tasting in Belo Horizonte reinforces our commitment to geographical diversification within Brazil, a strategic market with enormous potential. This initiative combines the aim of generating business opportunities with the creation of memorable experiences for the consumer, bringing Portugal closer to audiences who increasingly value quality, authenticity and knowledge about the product they are consuming."
These tastings have proven to be effective initiatives for doing business in the various cities where they take place, especially for producers who want to enter or grow in the Brazilian market, which last year saw a 10.6% increase in imports of Portuguese wines. ViniPortugal is renewing this commitment, now in Belo Horizonte, promoting Portuguese wine as a symbol of identity, innovation and excellence.
