Wines of Portugal are the largest international representation in the 1st edition of this fair, from February 10 to 12
From February 10 to 12, the Portuguese wines will participate in France at the 1st edition of Vinexpo Paris. The national representation, composed by more than 75 producers, from different wine regions, is the most numerous international group in the event. This is an excellent opportunity to promote the quality of Portuguese wines in the French market, the first world destination for national wines. According to data from the IVV (Portuguese Wine and Vine Institute) released in the last edition of Wines of Portugal Annual Forum, exports to France represented, in value, 83 million euros, registering an increase of 0,7% in the average price (values until September 2019). The national representation led by ViniPortugal, under the aegis of the “Wines of Portugal” brand, brings to Vinexpo Paris a selection of wines representative of the richness and diversity of Portuguese wine regions. The visitors will have at their disposal a free tasting area with a selection of 30 Portuguese white wines. France, United States, United Kingdom, Brazil and Germany form the top 5 of the destination markets for Portuguese wines. In global terms, Portugal ranks 9th in the top-10 of the world's largest wine exporters. In this ranking, led by France, Portugal is positioned, in value, behind New Zealand and ahead of the United Kingdom. In volume, Portugal occupies the same position, being behind the United States, but surpasses Argentina. Vinexpo Paris results from the collective and unprecedented initiative of the organizers of Wine Paris (COMEXPOSIUM) and Vinexpo Paris (VINEXPO) to promote a unique event in 2020. The fair will be held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles and will be attended by 700 exhibitors, expected to visit more than 7 thousand people.
