Portuguese wines awarded at Mundus Vini 2019

Portugal achieved 279 medals in 2019 Spring Edition of Mundus Vini, the most important competition in Germany
A total of 279 Portuguese wines were awarded in the 22th edition of the prestigious competition Mundus Vini. Portugal has accomplished 5 Grand Gold medals - the highest distinction of the competition. Douro was the most awarded wine region with 64 medals. Portugal achieved 144 gold medals and 105 silver medals. Italy was the most awarded country (678 medals), followed by Spain (620 medals), France (343 medals) and Portugal (279 medals). Mundus Vini was founded 20 years ago by Meininger Verlag publishing house and has become one of the world's most significant wine competitions. Nearly 200 international wine experts from 50 countries spent the four days critically judging almost 7,200 wines from more than 150 wine growing regions all over the world.
