Blandy's, Henriques & Henriques, Anselmo Mendes, Soalheiro, Taylor Fladgate and Vadio were the Portuguese wineries awarded in the event Wine & Spirits' 2016 Top 100 wineries. Wine & Spirits Top 100 Tasting Event honors those wineries from around the world that delivered the best overall performances in W&S tastings throughout the year. Since its inception eleven years ago, the event has been produced in San Francisco, with Bay Area chefs and local artisanal purveyors serving signature specialties to complement the premier bottlings of the honored wineries. Top 100 event raises money and awareness for groups that work to protect water resources. Wine is 80 percent water, so in a sense, concern for water purity and conservation is just self-preservation for wine drinkers. More info here.
