Among the 9,200 wines from 50 producer countries, Portuguese wines were distinguished with 368 medals, at the 24st edition of Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. In total, Portugal achieved 15 Grand Golds, 122 Golds and 231 Silvers. Alentejo wine region was the most awarded Portuguese region with 91 medals, followed by Porto and Douro with 82 medals. The results are pretty exciting because the number of awarded wines increased compared to last year. The wines were blind tasted by 320 judges comprising sommeliers, buyers, importers, journalists and wine writers from 50 countries. Next year’s edition will take place in Valladolid, Spain.
