Wines and Art in a unique Ramos Pinto tasting in Porto
Economy
11 November 16
A privileged artistic treasure associated with a wine tasting, on November 18 at 6.30 p.m., in Porto Tasting Room , at Palácio da Bolsa
ViniPortugal challenged Casa Ramos Pinto, which has a privileged artistic heritage, to create a unique wine and art event that perfectly marries wine and art. The event will be held next Friday, November 18, at 6.30 p.m., at Palácio da Bolsa. The participants are invited to embark on a magnificent journey back in time, led by the historian Ana Fillipa Correia, through the Historical Archive of Ramos Pinto, where are the most emblematic advertisements of the company, from the late nineteenth century to the present. João Mesquita, oenologist and commercial manager of Ramos Pinto will present several wines, which through their particularities will revive the company's historical heritage. Founded by Adriano Ramos Pinto in 1880, Casa Ramos Pinto rapidly became noted, at the time, for its innovative and enterprising strategy. Associated with quality bottled wines, it began operating on the Brazilian market in the early 20th century and quickly became responsible for half of the wine exported to South America, whilst it was still conquering generations of loyal customers in Portugal and Europe. These were the natural results of a forward thinking strategy, based on the modernisation of selection, batching and ageing circuits, the continuous wine research and the special care which Adriano Ramos Pinto devoted to the packaging and promotion of his wines. The Ramos Pinto wines have therefore become a reference of quality. The wine tasting has a cost of € 5 and requires subscription until 17/11 for the e-mail sara.monteiro@viniportugal.pt
