ProWine welcomes the Wines of Portugal

The Minister of Agriculture and Marine will be in the fair opening, 12th November at the Shanghai New International Expo Center
Assunção Cristas, Minister of Agriculture and Marine, will be present at the Prowein China, 12th November. The event runs from 12 to 14 November, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC). The Wines of Portugal will bring together 22 winemakers from the different Portugal wine regions. These winemakers will contact with local importers and distributors and consequently will have the possibility to find new business opportunities and increase the knowledge about the Portuguese Wines. The ProWine China, a world benchmark event, plays a key role on the wine sector because allows the contact between wine professionals from all over the world. The 2014 edition welcomes 570 exhibitors from 30 countries and 7.650 attendees. In order to promote the Portuguese wines will be organized guided tours, during the 3 days fair. These are scheduled actions targeted to groups of journalists and the trade to who manifest interest about the regions, brands or specific wine styles. The guided tours will be led by Cátia Moura, market manager of China and Singapura. Jorge Monteiro, ViniPortugal CEO, emphasizes that “The presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Marine, Assunção Cristas, on the fair opening, is an important acknowledgment and encourages the continuation of the work which we have been doing in cooperation with the winemakers. This work has the purpose of increase the presence of Wines of Portugal in a difficult market such as China.”
