Wines of Portugal awarded in World Wine Awards of Canada 2014

The Wines of Portugal were distinguished with 10 medals, in the competition World Wine Awards of Canada 2014. A respected panel of judges awarded 8 Portuguese wines, in the biggest competition in Canada.
The rosé wine from Adega de Vila Real obtained the first place in the “Category Champions” (the most important award in competition). In the “Judge’s Choice” have been highlighted the fortified wines Graham’s 2008 Late Bottled Vintage Port, Graham’s 20 Year Old Tawny, Taylor Fladgate 10 Year Old Tawny Port, Warre’s Otima 10 Year Old Port, the red wine Caves Velhas Topazio 2012 Douro Red, and the white wine Gazela Vinho Verde. In the “Top Value Wines” were distinguished the white wines Gazela e Aveleda Fonte 2013. The fortified wine Graham’s 20 Year Old Tawny was awarded as the “Best of Country”. The competition World Wine Awards of Canada held in last August in Toronto, Ontario. Close to 1,100 wines were tasted by 20 respected judges, including wine writers, wine critics, Master Sommeliers and Masters of Wines, in Canada.WineAlign.com/Awards.
