Portuguese wines awarded by Decanter

Two Portuguese wines were awarded in Decanter World Wine Awards Magazine, yesterday in London. Decanter magazine is one of the most important publications in the world wine.
Moscatel de Setúbal 2007 from Quinta da Bacalhôa won the international trophy - Sweet Fortified under £10 (13 euros). Vinho Verde Deu La Deu Alvarinho 2010 produced by Adega Cooperativa de Monção, obtained the international trophy in the “White Single Varietal over £10” category. About Moscatel de Setúbal the judges said: “Complex yet harmonious red apple and honeysuckle aromas giving a honeyed richness to ripe peach and honeydew melon with underlying minerality. Floral orange peel and citrus, very fresh with a fruity thread of acidity”. Deu La Deu Alvarinho was much admired for the “floral orange peel and citrus, very fresh with a fruity thread of acidity.” Decanter World Wine Awards saw more than 200 wine critics taste 14 120 wines. This edition Chile was the country with more wines represented (782).
