Portuguese muscat is one of the best in the world

The Moscatel do Douro harvest of 1980 produced by Adega de Favaios is the third best muscat in the world by the French competition “Muscats du Monde”.
The Douro Moscatel is the only Portuguese wine in the “Muscats du Monde” top 10 ang also got a gold medal. But the Portuguese participation did not end here. There are three more gold medals and three silver medals, almost equally distributed between the Douro and the Setúbal region (regions with a great tradition muscatel production). After a Portuguese moscatel was declared the best in the world in the 2011 competition edition, a unique achievement for Portuguese wines, this year's Adega de Favaios puts its Moscatel 1980 in the third position. This year the competition judges blind tasted about 232 muscats from 24 countries and about 33% of the wines achieved medals.
