26 is the number of medals that Portuguese wines obtained in the last edition of the Bacchus competition that took place in Madrid.
Portuguese wines got a total of 11 gold medals and 15 silver medals among 1520 wines in competition from 23 countries. Dão Sul wine company got four gold medals with the Vinha de Saturno 2010, Four C 2009, Grilos 2009 and Quinta de Cabriz Selected Harvest 2009 and two silver medals with Conde de Sabugal Moscatel 2009 and Quinta de Lourosa Alvarinho & Arinto 2011. This year Portugal was Bacchus invited country, a competition planned by the Spanish Wine Tasters Union (UEC).
