Six Portuguese Wines in "The Enthusiast 100 - 2011" of the Wine Enthusiast Magazine

Six Portuguese wines in "The Enthusiast 100" list and amongst these, two are in the top 10. Overall, four red wines from the regions of Bairrada, Tejo, Douro and Dão and two white wine from Alentejo and Tejo.
6 th - Ikon 2008, Chardonnay/Trincadeira, white wine, Fiuza (Tejo) – 93 points; 9 th - Casa de Santar 2007 Touriga Nacional, red wine, Dão Sul (Dão) – 93 points; 22 th - Rubrica Branco 2009, white wine, Luis Duarte (Alentejano) – 93 points; 29 th - Escada 2007, red wine, DFJ Vinhos (Douro) – 92 points; 37 th - Padre Pedro Reserva 2007, red wine, Casa Cadaval (Tejo) – 92 points; 78 th - Rol de Coisas Antigas 2008, red wine, Campolargo (Bairrada) - 92 points. This year, Wine Enthusiast tasting panel reviewed more than 16,000 wines. "The Enthusiast 100" wines are not the ones we drink on a daily basis but instead, they are the solid middle ground: weekend wines, restaurants, special occasion wines, the premium wines. They tried to include wines made in different regions, from various grape varieties and in many different styles. The full list of can be found here.
