Event description
Wines of Portugal is organizing a partnership with the Norwegian Sommeliers Association with the aim of promoting the brand and notoriety of Portuguese wines, increasing sommeliers' knowledge of Portuguese wines and promoting new business opportunities for producers in the Norwegian market. In this way, we have the opportunity to present the quality and diversity of Portuguese wines to a very restricted audience of professionals in the sector.
The partnership with the Norwegian Sommeliers Association includes the following:
- A dedicated Masterclass for sommeliers in spring 2024;
- An exhibitor table at Norwegian Sommelier Day on October 13, 2024;
- 2 newsletters for all sommelier members with communication from the producers/wines enrolled in this action;
- Wines of Portugal will support the winners of the Best Norwegian Sommelier, Junior Wine Award and the three finalists of the Best Sommelier of the Year Championship, with the prize of a one-week trip to Portugal as a juror for the Wines of Portugal Challenge in 2025;
The wines for the events must be available in Norway and sent via the importer of the respective producers registered for this action.

The Norwegian Sommeliers Association works continuously to improve cooperation between all branches of the hotel and restaurant industry and strives to create an informative and social platform for all sommeliers living and working in Norway. The Association has numerous members, through its Instagram they continuously reach almost 4,000 sommeliers and professionals in the sector.
The association is a member of the Association de la Sommellerie International (the international association of sommeliers).
